A revolution born in 1983
Created by Jean-Bernard and Dominique Rouvinez, Le Tourmentin was born from a bold vision: to introduce an approach to Valais inspired by great wines, based on blending and aging in oak barrels.
At a time when these practices were still non-existent in the region, this choice marked a true breakthrough. Le Tourmentin quickly became one of the first Valais wines to assert a more structured, more ambitious style, while remaining faithful to its original terroir.
Over the decades, it has established itself as a strong signature of Domaines Rouvinez, a symbol of innovation and consistency.
A unique style, between power and elegance
Aged with precision in the winery's barrel tunnel, Le Tourmentin develops a deep structure and great aromatic complexity.
Its blend of Pinot Noir, Cornalin, Humagne Rouge, and Syrah gives it richness and balance. Aromas of ripe black fruits, spices, and elegant woody notes are expressed with finesse, supported by silky tannins and a beautiful length on the palate.
It is a wine built to last, which evolves over time and reveals its full dimension.
La Trémaille
Time as a signature
As an extension of Le Tourmentin, La Trémaille explores another expression: that of a great white wine for aging.
Born from a demanding process, it combines the tension of Petite Arvine with the structure of Chardonnay. Aged in the same barrel tunnel, it is distinguished by its balance and its ability to evolve over time.
More than a wine, La Trémaille embodies a vision: one of patient, precise work, where every decision counts.
The same philosophy
Le Tourmentin and La Trémaille are based on a simple conviction: time is an ally.
Each vintage is the result of rigorous selection and meticulous work, where the goal is not to produce more, but to produce just right. This high standard gives birth to structured, elegant, and deeply expressive wines.
