The Chinese New Year meal takes place at the home of the eldest family member. Every region has its specialties, and every family has its recipes: dumplings, fish, rice cakes. The celebration must last until after midnight, and the table must be covered with food.
I suggest sweet and sour shrimp, delicious when enjoyed with a glass of Trémaille.
The sauce
- 6 tbsp ketchup
- 4 tbsp soy sauce
- 1 tsp salt
- 2 tbsp vinegar
- 2 tbsp sugar
- 1 tbsp cornstarch
- 1 clove of garlic, finely chopped
- pepper to taste
Recipe
- Sauté 500 g of shrimp in a little oil and set aside
- Remove the grease with a paper towel
- Cook the sauce in the same pan for 1 to 2 minutes,
- Add the shrimp
- Serve with rice and steamed vegetables of your choice
